This monument is dedicated to the local people of Hartlip, who went to serve their country in both the first and second world wars. A simple stone structure with the cross at the top. Behind the monument are the names of the locals who served.
Hartlip, with its close proximity to the Chatham Navel Dockyard meant that many of the local residents served and died in the first World War whilst serving with the Royal Navy.
