Thorncroft spring can be easily missed as you walk past. Located beside a small lane at the bottom of Gimcrack Hill. The spring is said to be a 'Holy Spring' and it has been written about in “Holy Wells and Magical Waters of Surrey” by Rowland G.M. Baker, published in Source Magazine, the stream is listed as a noted eye-curer.

You can access the spring by climbing down a few steps from the public road to the water edge, where you see it emerge from a culvert, and flows beside the drive down to the river. This spring is free flowing and never seems to dry up. The water probably seeps through the chalk of the Surrey Downs which filters the water which is crystal clear.

The location is listed on the megalithic website (visit link)
