This monument is dedicated to the 49th Ohio Infantry Regiment Marker, is in recognition of their service during the Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 19–20, 1863. It marks their position from 11:00 A.M. to %:30 P.M. on Sept. 20, 1863 during the battle.

A 1'6" x 1'6" x 3' high granite obelisk with a raised letter inscription. Marks regiment's position on Kelly Field on September 20, 1863, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
