Bear Creek is close to Kelowna, BC, in the interior of BC. It can be quite busy in the summer.
The lakeside location is great for swimming, and there is a nice sandy beach. There are 5km of hiking trails, including a trail to spectacular Bear Creek Canyon. There is also a 117 site campground.

 Background: At one time this was part of Bear Creek Ranch. It was bought by the S.M. Simpson Sawmill Co., who in turn sold it to Crown Zellerbach. Crown Zellerbach sold it to the provincial government in 1981.
