The plaque on the library's wall reads: "The silver fish celebrates the small but heroic forage fish found in the waters just off Ocean beach. Native to San Francisco, the more solitary vermilion rockfish has been a food source since the Ohlone inhabited the Bay Area hundreds of years ago."

One of the fish is upright and curved. The other is lying a few inches off the ground and is also curved.
