- On March 10th, 1804 in this house died a famous native of Chvalsiny, Josef Rosenauer - Imperial surveyor, Director of Prince log driving company, builder of canals in Bohemian Forest, citizen of Cesky Krumlov, honorable citizen of Prague and Vienna. Placed by Lesy CR (Czech Republic forestry enterprise) in 2002.
Josef Rosenauer studied forestry and land survey and in 1771 he became a forest engineer at Prince Schwarzenberg property. In 1770s he worked on a project of canal network, which was realized in 1789-1793 and it is preserved till today - "The Schwarzenberg Canal". For his merits in supplying Vienna city with timber he obtained a Viennese honorable citzenship. He also projected other canals in western part of Bohemian Forest and on Aist river in Upper Austria.
