This parish dates to 1893 with the current church building having its corner stone laid in 1906. The parish originally served the Irish and German populations in area, the parish transitioned to be a predominately African-American parish beginning in the 1950's. The Gothic Revival Church, designed by architect/sculptor Joseph Conradi, is distinguished by its stained glass and exterior stone sculpture.
