This sculpture is located in front of the Paris Observatory and honors Urbain Jean Joseph Le Verrier who was one of the discoverers of the planet Neptune...a discovery he predicted using mathematics.
The sculpture depicts him pointing to the globe held by this Atlas near his left leg.
The artist is unknown.
The coordinates refer to the entrance to the Observatory since the gates were locked and visitors were not allowed.
