At the bottom is the Woodmen of the World symbol.
Reverse inscription was mentioned in the 1939 American Guide for Tennessee:
Remember me, as you pass by
As you are now so once was I
As I am now you will soon be
Prepare for death and follow me.
as it reportedly had two lines subsequently added of:
To follow you, I am not content
Unless I know which way you went.
The small cemetery is behind the church roughly just under 300 yards from the country road.
