 The fountain of the Knights in Montemor-o-Novo, was built in 1825, in place of another ofMedieval origin, in Montemor output to the west, near the junction of the roads on their way toLisbon and Alcacer do Sal Source typical aimed at walkers and their mounted (there's even astone to help set up), served also, in the XX Century, for the supply of water carriers who soldwater in the village.

It is a fountain very well preserved by the city council.

 A Fonte dos Cavaleiros, em Montemor-o-Novo, foi construído em 1825, no lugar de outro de origem Medieval, na saída de Montemor para poente, perto do entroncamento das estradas que seguiam para Lisboa e para Alcácer do Sal. Fonte típica, destinada a caminhantes e suas montadas (tem até uma pedrinha para ajudar a montar), servia também, ainda no Sec. XX, para abastecimento dos aguadeiros que vendiam água na Vila.
De estilo rorocó, exibe as armas reais, sem coroa. (escudo português)
É um fontanário muito bem preservado pela câmara municipal. |
