The "Domaine de Sceaux" is acquired in 1670 by Minister Colbert. He seeks the architect Perrault, already famous to have worked on the Palace of Versailles.
He asks Lebrun (1619-1690) with all the embellishments and asks Le Nôtre (1613-1700) to draw him a grand park.
The big waterfall, decorated with a luxurious decoration constituted one of the major attractions of this garden, completed by numerous "green rooms" decorated with fountains, games of water, fences and sculptures.
