Josep Torres i Vilalta, known as Toreski(Barcelona 1869-1937) was a Catalan radio host, a pioneer in this field. He started as an actor and in 1893 went to South America with a zarzuela company, but in the early twentieth century became famous as ventríloc under the name of Toresky. In 1924 he became the first presenter of Radio Barcelona and made popular by his pseudonym, especially with the ongoing dialogue with a character called Miliu, which made ??charitable campaign that earned him a medal from the government of the Second Spanish Republic.
He is buried in the cemetery of the Courts of Barcelona.

This Statue in bronze of Miliu the figure created by Josep Torres (Toreski) was placed in 1983 in the gardens of the park of the "Sagrada Familia" one the most visited places by tourists in the city of Barcelona.
