Founded in 1846 the Hamilton Spectator serves much of the Hamilton, Niagara, Halton and Haldimand regions. Currently owned by Torstar (owners of the Toronto Star), "the Spec" is published by the Metroland Media Group.
The paper features a standard release Monday through Friday with a Saturday special. There is no paper on Sundays. The Spec is also available online (fee after 30 article views)
The Spectator building is a prominent feature on Highway 6/403.
