The Brooklyn Bridge was built in completed in 1883, although the date stone says 1875. The date can be found on the upper part of the bridge supports.

The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. It connects the New York City boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn by across the East River. The Brooklyn Bridge was the longest suspension bridge in the world from its opening until 1903, and the first steel-wire suspension bridge.
