Old Clove Church - Wantage, NJ - This Old Church on Waymarking.com

The Old Clove Church has long been a local landmark. The building is no longer used for regular services. The large sign on the outside proudly displays 1787 as the date of the church. The actual building was erected in 1829. There is a historical marker on the property that denotes why 1787 is an important date. The marker reads:

granted men of this
community permission
in 1787 to establish a
congregation here.
In 1817 this small
group affiliated with
three other churches
and became the First
Presbyterian Church
of Wantage.
