QE2626 - OSHD YB32, Oregon - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This elevation mark is located at the north end of the Yaquina Bay Bridge. The cap is located in the sidewalk at the northwest corner of the bridge, 12 feet west of the curb line. The cap was set by the Oregon State Highway Department in 1967 and was marked YB32.

DESCRIBED BY EAGLE GPS SURVEYING CORPORATION 1988 (WLC) THE STATION IS IN SOUTH NEWPORT AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE HIGHWAY BRIDGE OVER YAQUINA BAY. TO REACH FROM THE JUNCTION OF HIGHWAY US 101 AND US 20 IN NEWPORT GO SOUTH ON US 101 FOR 1.6 KM (1.0 MI) TO THE NORTH END OF THE BRIDGE OVER YAQUINA BAY AND THE STATION ON THE RIGHT. THE STATION IS AN ORHD MARK STAMPED---YB 32 1967---, SET INTO A DRILL HOLE IN THE SIDEWALK OF THE BRIDGE. IT IS 3.81 METERS (12.5 FEET) WEST OF THE CURB ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE BRIDGE AND 1.8 METERS (6 FT) EAST OF THE CENTER OF THE CONCRETE STEPS AND 3.7 METERS (12.0 FT) SOUTWEST OF A WITNESS PADDLE ON A WOODEN SIGN POST.
