Disciples of Christ Historical Society
Davidson County Marker # 71
Text: “Library and archives of the 19th c. American religious unity movement which became: the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Christian Churches, and Churches of Christ. Located here, 1958, in the Thomas W. Phillips Memorial. Architects: Hoffman & Crumpton; Hart, Freeland & Roberts. Sculptor: Puryear Mims. Stained glass artist: Gus Baker.”
Erected 1980.
Notes: Marker is fairly easy to get to. Located at the intersection of 19th Avenue South and Scarritt Place. Most nearby parking is by permit only, or metered, however down Scarritt Place are some businesses that might have free parking. Also, just a little down 19th, toward Edgehill Avenue, is a parking lot, but I'm not sure if it's open to the public. Marker is within walking distance of the "University School of Nashville" Davidson County marker.
