The twisted beam from the World Trade Center adored with flowers, candles and articles of clothing is a visual reminder of not only that day back in 2001, but also that those who perished in the attack are not forgotten. This memorial is dedicated to those victims from Jersey City. It looking at the memorial and the marker behind it, you can see the skyline of New York City and where the World Trade Center was.
Near the memorial is a statue of a man hidden behind flowers, helmets, and other items or rememberance.
Makeshift Memorial

Rescue workers in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001
tragedy got thier only smile of the day with a "victim"
lifted from the rubble turned out to be a bronze sculpture
by artist Seward Johnson.
"Double Check" was set up amid the wreckage, becoming
a makshift memorial, as flowers and heartbreaking
remembrances soon coverred the piece, Deeply moved,
Johnson reverently collected all the messages of love and pain,
cast them in bronze, and welded them to the piece exactly as
he had found them one month after the tragedy.
