The multi-purpose pavilion is situated in Gondomar.

It was designed by the architect Siza Vieira and inaugurated by Finance Minister Fernando Teixeira dos Santos on June 28, 2007.

The total cost of the pavilion was 20 million euros, of which four million spent on land acquisition.

It is fully air-conditioned, thermally and acousticly insulated, in compliance with all safety standards. It has 10 entries, seven of which to the public, one for VIP and 2 for athletes, officials and press. It has several floors accessible by stairs and elevators.

The pavilion is host to handball, basketball, futsal, hockey, volleyball, and gymnastics matches, as well as exhibitions and music concerts, with a maximum capacity of 4,400 spectators.

It is one of the largest in the country, staying ahead of the future Rosa Mota pavilion and Congress Center Europarque.
