This 1874 marble sculpture is entitled "La Comedie" and is probably intended to represent Thalia, one of three Graces...and the Muse of Comedy. She is depicted here with an elaborate dress...and an enigmatic smile... and while missing her right arm..she holds the mask of man's face which has a more obvious smile.
The artist is Julien Toussaint Roux who appears to be anonymous online except in relationship to having sculpted this piece.
