Paiva river is probably the most used for rafting in Portugal, and there are several companies operating there, the following information is from "Nómadas" company. I did this rafting trip with them, and i was satisfied.
Name of trip: Rio Paiva (Vau – Espiunca). Starts in Vau beach (WM Coordinates) and ends in Espiunca beach.
Description: This is the most demanding section of the 2 commercially operated in the river Paiva.
While not necessarily mandatory, participants should have done the section Espiunca-Travanca.
Excitement is guaranteed.
Physical requirements: It is recommended that participants have an average physical condition.
Duration: 2 hours, depending on river flow.
Technical Level: Medium.
Period: November to May, depending on the year.
What to bring: Shoes for wet, Swimsuit, towel, sunscreen.
Security: All the action will be accompanied by experienced monitors.
Insurance: Participants will be covered by a personal accident insurance.
Number of participants: This rafting trip can only be operated with if a minimum of 8 participants.
