Das Naturschutzgebiet ist fast straßenfrei, lediglich über die Landesstraße ist die Zufahrt zu den Parkflächen beim Gasthof "Touristenrast" und bei der Brücke über den Alpeinerbach möglich. Dorthin verkehrt ein Bus von St. Jodok.
Weitere Fahrwege führen bis zu Versorgungsseilbahnen und Almen, sind aber nicht für den öffentlichen Verkehr freigegeben.
Im Gebiet gibt es einige Steige, die zu den Jöchern führen. Die am meisten begangenen führen vom GH Touristenrast zur Geraer Hütte, sowie von der Geraer Hütte zum Steinernen Lamm und zur Alpeiner Scharte. Von dort führt der Höhenweg weiter nach Osten an der Nordseite des Zillertaler Hauptkammes entlang.
Bemerkenswert ist im Valser Tal, wie auch in den anderen Schutzgebieten im Brennergebiet, der Blumenreichtum und die floristische Zusammensetzung der Vegetation.
MICHOR (1995) unterscheidet im Gebiet 28 Pflanzengesellschaften.
428 Pflanzenarten wurden nachgewiesen, davon sind 36 in der Roten Liste gefährdeter Pflanzenarten, weitere 27 sind in Tirol geschützt.
HANDEL-MAZZETTI (1962) beschreibt seltene Trockenpflanzen aus dem Gebiet, wie die ährige Glockenblume (Campanula spicata) an felsigen Hängen, oder zahlreiche Knabenkräuter der alpinen Mähder.

The nature reserve is nearly free of road, just beyond the country road is the entrance to the parking areas at the inn "tourist stop" and the bridge over the Alpeinerbach possible. There is a bus from St. Jodok.
Other routes lead up to supply cable cars and mountain pastures, but are not released for public transport.
In the area there are some platforms that lead to the yokes. The most committed to the cause of GH Touristenrast hut Gera, Gera, and of the Lamb and the Stone Cottage at Alpeiner notch. From there the trail continues to the east on the north side of the ridge along the main Zillertal.
Noteworthy is the Vals Valley, as well as in other protected areas in the burner area, flower richness and the floristic composition of vegetation.
Michor (1995) differs in area 28 plant communities.
428 plant species were detected, of which 36 are in the red list of endangered plant species, 27 are further protected in the Tyrol.
Handel-Mazzetti (1962) describes rare plants from the dry area, such as the eared bellflower (Campanula spicata) on the rocky slopes, and numerous orchids of the alpine Mähder.
