The first "tourist stamp" of Banska Stiavnica town.

Banska Stiavnica is an old mining town in Central Slovakia. There are many sites reminding of its mining history, and the landmark selected for the tourist stamp image was Klopacka - "Knocking Tower". In the tower there used to be installed a device signalling the begin and the end of the shifts (an oak hammer beating into a wooden board). The ground floor of the tower was used as a jail for the miners convicted by the mine court.
The tourist stamp can be bought at the information center of Mining Museum in the center of the town (Kammerhofska 2). There is also other tourist stamp available for Novy Zamok castle, another landmark of the town.
Currently (October 2011) there are construction works going on in the street under the tower, so the photo I made was the best perspective resembling the stamp image.
