Colin Philip Taylor used to walk up Farthingstone Road on a regular basis and sit awhile on this seat, it was 'his favourite place' as the memorial plaque states.
The seat was placed here some years ago on a concrete block by the east side of the road which just happened to be the place where the Ordnance Survey decided to place one of their rivets. I doubt they knew it was there.
The rivet was last leveled in 1967 at 106.6861m above Newlyn Datum.
