Standard Newport Area map with You Are Here marker in front of the Yaquina Head Interpretive Center. Yaquina Head is a narrow headland of basaltic rock at the north end of Newport, Oregon. The 100-acre Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area was established in 1980 by Congress. The Yaquina Head Interpretive Center opened in 1997.
