Its construction was due to a robbery carried out in the church of Odivelas in 1671, allegedly by a young Antonio Ferreira, who then stole the altar and other altars of this church, the rosary beads of N. Lady of the Rosary, the garments of the Child Jesus and of Our Lady of Egypt, the sacred vessels, among others, hiding them in a thicket of reeds where it is today the Lord Stolen (Sr. Roubado).
The Monument to Lord stolen consists of an enclosure in the shape of an isosceles trapezium with an area ten meters long and eight wide, and the architectural arrangement shows the way of a open sky temple.
