This is a directional sign on the east side of the state highway of 183 at the summit of Blue Mtn.
Caution: Blind spot and very fast traffic and very foggy at times!

This Waypoint brings you to the Crossing of the A.T. on The Pa.State Route 183 on the Summit of the Blue Mtn. If Hiking be very careful as it is a four lane highway and a blind spot for speeding traffic!
The A.T. here at this point in Schuylkill county follows the old Swatara path(before A.T. An Indian trail) Don't travel too far off the trail here due to the heavy infestation of rattlesnakes!
3 miles south on Pa.St.Rt. 183 is I-78 and the nearest Town of Straustown, Gas station,phone,motel,sheepskin shop,diner!All down hill on a two lane blind curvy highway! Some nearby homes in case of emergency(like Snake bite)
I've done some day hikes going south from this spot and about 1 mile in on North side is a boy scout camp,and 4-5 miles in going south is another scout camp on south side! Some neat camping spots at old reservoirs or springs on trails to scout camps!
