Koch Hazard Architects designed Cherapa Place to include many green features, including utilizing native vegetation and landscaping (requiring no irrigation), and plumbing fixtures which use 33% less water overall. 41% of the building materials were manufactured or harvested within 500 miles of the site, 25% of the building materials are recycled (not including mechanical and electrical systems), and all sealants, adhesives, paints, carpets and coatings are low or no VOC-emitting contributing to a healthier indoor environment.
