Billboards on Interstate 10 as much as 178 miles away start trying to entice you to stop and see "The Thing" at a freeway interchange about 16 miles east of Benson. This stop includes a Dairy Queen, a gas station, and a gift shop in addition to "The Thing". They open at 6:00AM for breakfast (possibly earlier) and close at 7:00PM so get there early of you want to smash pennies or see "The Thing".
