La Riviere (the river)is a 1938 sculpture from French (of Catalan origin) artist Aristide Maillol.
It represents a naked woman with the head down like if it´s wasging the hair in a river. The sculpture was probably made in plaster or terracota(one of Maillol favourite materials) and later casted in lead.
It was probably inspired by Dina Vierny, Maillol´s model for the last 10 years of his life.
