A granite built cross on a hillock on the south side of the main road through Newtonmore.

The whole of this monument is made of rough hewn granite blocks except for the celtic cross on the top which has been smoothed and carved. There are two name panels on the top tier of three, one for each of the two World Wars, WWI on the front (road side) and WWII on the rear. The dedication panel is on the second tier on the front of the monument whilst below is a plain tier. The whole is surrounded by a flat, flagged, area and metal stantions and chains. It is reached from a gravelled footpath winding up the hillock by two steps.

The dedication inscription reads:

                              Erected by
              the Inhabitants of Newtonmore and District
                          In Loving Memory of
            Those Who Gave Their Lives For King and Country
                        1914 – 1919 –1939 – 1945
                       “Being Dead Yet Speaketh.”
