This is a strange thing to find up here, but in the days before mobile phones would have been absolutely essential. Wonder how many lives have been saved because it was put here?
It's reputed to be the reddest, the oldest, the smartest, and the most modest 'phone box as well as the highest. Yes, still has a working 'phone installed.
There has been a 'phone on the mountain for a long time and I can't really say whether or not it's current position is the original placement.
Colour: It's red!
Is it in its original position?: Not sure
Is there a working telephone in it?: Yes
