The Red Lion is the heart of Dinas Mawddwy with a fine, traditional yet lively atmosphere where this inn’s history envelopes you from the second you walk in. An impressive fire place greets you, adorned like much is the building in relics of its fascinating past.
Owned and run by mother and son team Beryl and Berwyn Hughes, there is great food, real ale and accommodation available all year round. Four of which are en suite and ideally located for exploring the charming local area or simply toddling off to bed after sampling the fine ale of offer below. On offer are a range of locally welsh brewed and nationally brewed ales, along with tasty food from 12-2pm and 6-9pm each day.
The food is what people really come for here, all made using local produce, prepared fresh each day. Local favourites are the variety of hearty homemade pies and the succulent Sunday lunch carvery which fills the place each weekends so it’s advised to book to avoid disappointment.
