Sunderland Point Mission Church was the first church commission for architects Paley and Austin. Red brick was chosen as the building material for ease of transport. Horse drawn carts were the transport of the day when the church was built in 1894.
The bell is a small black one with a chain to ring it. The bell projects out from under the ridge.
