Parkplatz bei N 47°13,220' E 10°53,609' in einer geräumigen Ausweiche, dann ca. 100m die Straße zurück (bergab) und von dort steil nach unten (Steigspuren) zum Eingang in einen Stollen aus dem zweiten Weltkrieg, durch den man den ganzen Amberg queren kann - Länge ca. 2 km - und auf der anderen Seite wieder ins Freie kommt. Hier gibt es eine grandiose Aussicht auf das Inntal.
Vorschlag für eine Rundwanderung: Parken in Ambach (Ötztal), Wanderweg nach Taxegg (Auer Klamm)- ca. 45 min.- von dort der Strasse entlang bis zum Stolleneingang und nach erfolgreicher Durchquerung Abstieg auf schmalem Steig ins Tal.
