Queen Elizabeth I directed that new inns should be built in order to provide facilities for travellers. However, this one just isn't that old. This will have been built and named rather unimaginatively since then.
The sign writer must have had something in mind when he painted this, but it is not obvious to the casual observer what that wsa.
