Standing on the grassy lawn along the Avenue of the Arts in front of the Museum of Arts, Cyrus Dallin's Appeal to the Great Spirit is one of the artist's best known pieces. Dallin, creator of the Paul Revere statue near the Old North Church, cast this statue in 1909. Native American themes are common in Dallin's works, and this excellent example depicts an American Indian with arms outstretched, looking to the heavens.
