Bruderholzhof has been a pioneer in organic agriculture in this area. I have not found any older history, but in 1973 they started a close cooperation with the newly founded Swiss Research Institute of Organic Agriculture as a study farm.
They have the full range of traditional agricultural products, all completely organic. Cattle, pigs, chicken breeding as well as grain, vegetables, fruit or honey.
The farm is almost completely surrounded by forest, so you do not notice how close to the city you are. There is a self-service farm shop on the property that is open any time. Here they offer fresh milk, yogurt, curd cheese, eggs, potatoes and flour. Tuesday to Thursday they have fresh bread baked baked in a wood-fired oven. Honey, fruit fruit juice, and meat are available sometimes, depending on the season.
