Lucia S. Foskit and Laura H. Bruuer were prominent Wilbraham citizens during the middle to late 19th century. Lucia S. Foskit was the wife of Dr. Stebbins Foskit, a physician. She erected Wilbraham Grange building and, in 1894, the town Civil War memorial which stands on the town green. She also was instrumental in recasting the old church bell, which dates back to 1802. The result is on display in a planted area on the lawn of the First United Church of Wilbraham.

The bell is inscribed:

This bell is made in part
from metal from the old bell.

Presented by
Mrs. Lucia S. Foskit.
Mrs. Laura H. Bruuer.
