The Caves Museum is located in the park area between the St. Beatus Caves and the parking. Entrance to the park and the museum are free of charge, but access to the real caves costs CHF 18 for adults and CHF 10 for children, this is a one hour guided tour one kilometer into the mountain.
From the museum web site: "In the caving museum interesting documentations and pictures about the history and development of cave exploration in Switzerland can be found.
Geogology and biology and the emergence of caves are explained. The museum offers you information on the techniques of cave exploration and cave diving as well as cave measuring. The latest scientific achievements are continuously complemented with new material.
One part of the museum is dedicated to changing special exhibitions. Currently the topic is «Cave saving and karst»."
