The waterfalls are located at the north shore of Lake Thun. They flow out of the St. Beatus Caves, a popular tourist attraction. The caves are open to the public for about one kilometer. There are some restaurants and concessions stands at the entrance of the caves; the water flows beneath the ground of the entrance building and then falls down the rocks in several cascades.

The closer area of the falls has been made into a park with several paths from the parking to the caves.
