Marion's first bank, the Bank of Marion, was established in 1894. The Bank of Marion served the area until December 1902, at which time the First State Bank of Marion was incorporated and took over the business of the bank of Marion. In 1922, thw First State Bank of Marion changed to the First National Bank of Marion and in 1941 was reorganized and became the Marion State Bank.
This building was used between 1941 and the 1970's. Since the closing of this building as a bank there has been a dental office and a law office and now Pet Grooming Salon. This building is located on the west corner of N. Main Street and W. Garfield Avenue.
