Spring is an ideal time for bird-watching in the park with many birds using this area as a stopover on their way north.
Endangered piping plovers nest in the park.
There is a boardwalk and self guiding trail that leads to a viewing tower in the Sioux Pass Marsh.
2011 is the third year in a row that Park vehicle permits are not required in Manitoba's Provincial Parks.
