The memorial has a bronze plaque mounted on a stone base. It is located along the walk of honor where several memorials are placed for various wars, units and individuals. The Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery is well cared for with about 4,000 graves with about 400 internments a year. The memorial is inscribed:
