To go along with the newly refurbished and on going revitalizations of downtown Tamaqua; they got rid of the ugly open field bought from the railroad and put in parking and the second center peice/fountain! The first centerpeice is the newly restored railroad station! And it's really nice too! Nice restaurant there also!(in station)
The fountain was dedicated to John Morgan of Morgan knitting mills famous for durafold long underware! Morgan gave away Millions of dollars to the community and local hospitals and colleges! Lehigh valley hospital for a cancer center for his wife and lehigh area community college for his kids!
He grew up in the early 1900's and of the victorian age! So the fountain is a victorian type with the usual Pineapple on top!
