The following information was obtained from the 1915 edition of the Titusville Herald.
Rev Amos Chase was born in 1760 at Sutton, MA and when he was 12 years old his family moved to Cornish, NH. Immediately after his graduation from college in 1778, he enlisted in the Continental army and served until the close of the war. On his return from war, he studied for the ministry and soon began preaching in Litchfield, CT. He retired from preaching in 1826 and moved to Centerville, PA to spend his final days. He died there on December 25, 1849.
His daughter is buried nearby and her headstone has a D.A.R plaque inset.
