The sculpture is a 15-foot fiberglass buck deer leaping over a log. It is part of the welcome sign for the small town and is located near the center of town on Hwy 210 in Elmer Park. The deer was placed in 1977 in memory of Jack L. Clemmer by the Deerwood Civic and Commercial Association. The sign and deer are real attention grabbers.
