There are a couple extra features in these salt pans: a Salt Museum (Open from Tuesday – Friday 9.30am-5.30pm and Sunday from 9.30am-5.30pm) and the skeleton of a juvenile whale, on public display.
The salt extraction is still going on, although it's an old place, which in 1801 was already in activity, under the name of Salinas de la Hondurilla.
