One of a number of murals in the Northeastern Indian area based on quilts. This 16’ x 28’ mural on the side of the Hobby Lobby entrance to the mall is titled Jazz it Up. The artist, Laurie Balla took her inspiration for the mural from “The Jazz Player Quilt” by Janet Wickell. So what you see looks like a quilt, though not in the traditional sense. A stylized sun has rays beaming from it with the silhouette of a young woman playing a saxophone in in those beams.
