A fountain that is dedicated by the population of Porthmadog to the memory of Alexander Madocks Es MP. The monument is a marble fountain (now out of use) that also commemorates the coming of age of his grandson as well.

The text reads:-

This fountain was
erected by public subscription,
as a memorial of
Wm Alexander Madocks Es. M.P.
the founder of portmadog and in
commemoration of the coming of age
of his grandson
Francis Wm Alexr Roche Esq.

Feb 18th 1875
Location: Park land near the center of town.
